This site exists to encourage the believer, alert the unbeliever, and point all to Christ by Thinking on Scripture. It has been said that writing is thinking, and the content on this site reflects my thoughts on God’s word. Time spent writing has helped sharpen my thoughts, and open up new ideas and connections that have helped me through the years. Perhaps they can help you too. I’m glad you found this tiny corner of the Internet and hope you find something useful for your own thinking while you are here.
The content here includes articles of various lengths, topics, and scope. I follow no hard and fast rules regarding the structure of each post. There will be thoughts discovered at the destination of a study, and thoughts found while on the journey. Much of the content will come from sermons I have given, or books I have written. Others will come from time spent in personal devotional reading. Besides this written content, sermons and bible studies in audio and video formats are available. Plans for the future include book reviews, as well as Q&A posts to answer reader submitted questions. Guest writers might also make an appearance.
I intend to update the site regularly, so if you enjoy the content, please come back often. If a particular article or thought resonates with you, please leave a comment or share it with others. I do not intend to market the site and any growth will be organic via word of mouth. While building an audience is not my concern, I hope you will find something of value here. The glory of God is my goal for Think On Scripture, and being a help to others is consistent with that goal.
So that you know who you are reading, my name is Kent Welch. I have been a bivocational pastor for 30 years. I am the author of two books; “Chronological Survey of the Old Testament“ and “The Lost Anchor“. I am presently the pastor of Covenant Baptist Church, a small independent Baptist church in Greenwood, Indiana. Though a weak soldier in the ranks of God’s army, I desire to magnify Christ and be a blessing to my fellow soldiers of the cross. May God bless this site to those ends.
