I don’t know what you’re facing today, but you should know this as you face it. Trusting in the strength of man (yours or another) leads to a collapse and fall. Trusting in the name of the Lord our God leads to our rising and standing upright.
Some of you have a hard day in front of you. Some of you know that already, and for others, it will be unexpected. Either way, when you are facing your trial today, remember to trust in the name of the Lord our God. The trial will probably knock you down and perhaps keep you there for some time. But I say to you to trust that God has promised to pick you back up, and set you once again on your feet if you will only trust in Him. Trust Him in the trial’s darkness when you can’t see. Trust Him when you don’t understand. When you feel wronged or abused, trust Him. Trust Him when you are afraid and when you don’t know which decision to make. When you can’t help, trust him to care for those you love. Trust Him through the pain. Trust Him with your job. Trust Him with your spouse. Trust Him with your children. Trust Him with your church. Trust Him to deliver all who trust in Him. Cling to him as a child clings to a parent. Let your tears fall on His omnipotent shoulders. Your tears will not weary Him. Your anger, confusion, and frustration will not surprise or baffle Him. From Him, you will find the strength, vision, awareness, and understanding you seek, though those things might not come as quickly as you would like. Oh, that God would make these things true for me on this day. I have but one thing to do today… trust in the name of the Lord my God.
Psalm 20:7–8
7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. 8 They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand upright.
